Daycare

Before and after school extended care is an added plus for working parents for grades first - sixth. We open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. with a cost of three (3) cents per minute.

Day Care is provided for preschool children ages three -five. The center is opened at 6:30 a.m. with preschool classes conducted from 8:00 - 11:45 a.m. The children have a hot lunch program followed by play and a nap. The center closes at 5:30 p.m. The cost for full day care is $95 weekly. The cost for half day preschool is only $50.

We have a Summer Fun program for the months of June - August for ages three years through sixth grade. The children are enrolled in the older program when they have completed kindergarten. Both groups have a weekly theme with activities relating to that particular week. The children may be having cooking classes at the center followed up by tours to grocery stores or fast food restaurants. The older children are enrolled in a weekly swim and tumbling program at the YWCA and bowling at Don Carters. Both groups participate in a library reading program, hikes, and park days. We have special community workers who visit the classes to instruct the children in a variety of interesting subjects.

Pre-School

K3 Program
The three-year-old program is well suited to this special group of little people. Playtime is always a favorite and is used to develop good social skills. Condensed learning experiences throughout the morning accommodate their short attention span. Children are introduced to a new letter and number every week. Other subjects covered are Bible, science, health and safety, shapes, colors, opposites, and classification. Learning is always made fun with plenty of stories, songs, finger plays, art projects, and games.

K4 Program
K4 is a fun place to be and to learn. We have games for learning our letters and numbers. We have "hands-on" classifying and counting. The Letter Bucket is sent home with a child when we have a new letter. They bring it back to school filled with objects or pictures of things that start with that letter. It's learning fun for the whole family. The children learn to "sound out" letter blends and read simple words. We have play time in our big gym or outside on our well-equipped playground. This equipment helps with muscle development and socialization. We learn how to get along and respect others.

We learn Bible verses, stories, and how to use Bible principles to build Christ-like character.

We also take part in Christmas and Graduation programs. K4 is a Great Place to make new friends.

The children each have a job at school which we change weekly. We also have several interesting, live pets in our room that the children help take care of and enjoy.

K5 Program
The five-year-old kindergarten class has many activities to stimulate young minds. Their math program has a "hands on" method which creates active problem solving. The children are building language and reading skills as they participate in the national "Book It" reading program. They also learn phonics through songs and games which enables them to read a number of books at different levels. Bible stories come to life as the children act out or draw the stories they hear.

Large and small muscle development is worked on daily either in the classroom, in the fenced in outside playground or in the fieldhouse.

The children are introduced to the computer which helps build reading skills. They are challenged with new math concepts. It is a great motivator in the classroom.
